Default Bottle heater question

Anyone know off the top of their heads, how many amps a bottle heater draws? Thanks in advance.

300watt heaters (nitrous outlet, harris, dynotune) draw 22amps @13.8v
240 watt heaters (nx) draw 17amps @13.8v
225 watt heaters (860) draw 16amps @13.8v
found this tidbit, not sure how accurate it is but I can tell you you will want to use a larger ga. wire.

Thanks for the info. You just saved me from a future wire meltdown.

i set up a relay for jaegmc99 at his heater because for some reason the first person to wire it used like 26 or 28 gage, and that melted to **** , so i used 12 gage from the battery to the relay and use the old 20sumthin gage to control the relay

if your running a bottle heater usually you always run a relay on a pressure switch so the heater turns on and off within a set pressure . so yes youll need the 12 guage wire from the battery to the relay and the relay to the heater. just make sure your relay is rated at the need amperage.

great advice now that i think about it and like he said make sure yer relay is rated atleast the same amperage if not higher than what your working with otherwise youll just make another point of failure, but most are 30/40amp rated
