hey guys

ive been searching around and see that a 224 112lsa cam is a good choice for nitrous

this is a daily driver tahoe with a shot of nitrous for the occasional play time

04 tahoe- shorty headers, 3.73 gears with a 32.34 tire, hp tuners, e fans, tr6 plugs, slp exhaust, zex 150 wet shot, corvette servo, sonnax 4th gear servo, trans go shift kit

im also supposed to be getting a 2800 stall from a guy

would that cam and setup be good for a daily driver/play toy

i do tow a 1800lb trailer and 3400lb grand national with it from time to time as well

Being in a tahoe I would go with something smaller even with the stall. You have a 6.0 or a 5.3 that will make a diff. as well. I would stay around the 212 - 220 duration range but that is just me.

218/218 on a 114 for you... keep it in the .560's .570's lift

im not finding a 218/218 at texas speed and performance

what about a 220/220

i would like the 112LSA- i like to have a lopey idle, but then again i need all the low end i can get to get this thing moving

if i went with a 220/220 would i have to get the 918 springs?
could i get away with no convertor- or would i still have to run a 2800 stall with a 220?

Get a comp 212/218 high lift on a 112 or 114LSA...That would be a nice cam for a tahoe with a 2800 converter with an occasional shot of nitrous.

with a 212/218 or a 220/220 can i use the LS6 valve springs with stock pushrods? or is it like mandatory to go with heavier springs and hardend pushrods

...Yes, you can use LS6 springs they are good for .570 lift. You can buy that cam from comp cams website. You could also try thunderracing.com or ebay because the comp website is probably the most confusing and poorly designed website on the internet. But, the cam is the XR265HR-15 and the last number "15" is the LSA which is nomarlly 115. But, that cam specs are 212/218 .558/.563 115lsa. And that is the high lift version.

I would also order some aftermarket hardened pushrods.

If I were you, I would either go to http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...d=308&pcid=122 and call them and order the 212/218 and make sure you get the HIGH LIFT with the .558/.563 lift mentioned above and also get the LSA you want whether 115,114, or 112 (think that cam comes with all those).

OR (this would be my first choice), call Thunder Racing and get them to custom cut a cam to the specs you please.

the cam I suggested was a custom grind... do the research on your lobes, thats where its at...
