Default New to the Nitrous World!

I bought a kit from a guy that contains the following: 15lb ZEX bottle, Bottle Heater, ZEX NMU (nitrous managment unit), ZEX purge valve kit, the bypass valve to vent out of cab, ZEX Nozzle with 10 jets, Lots of braided hose and some wires and switches....paid $250 never installed .... im running it on a ecsb 5.3 bored, cammed, heads,TB, LTs, UD pullies, 2500 stall, walbro 255 in the mail, CIA and other BS... im going to run the smallest (75hp) shot to start with and progress later and get my tune ret. 2 deg. My questions are Do you really have to run a plug 2 deg. cooler? Should I be investing in a window switch? Is there anything else i need to complete this kit? Thanks!!

I'm running 1 degree cooler with my 100 shot and 150 shot no problems. Make sure you get the non-projected tip. NGK part # 3177. Window switch isn't necessary but a lot like to run it for safety. What you have should be good to go. Make sure you get some timing pulled though.

That is a very good statement, as he said you should always pull timing and you can add more timing if you read your plugs right. The only things that i would recommend to make it a more user friendly system is a window switch, fuel pressure safety switch so if your fuel pressure drops to low it will cut off the nitrous, and also a bottle heater to maintain bottle pressure.

after spraying nitrous thru the motor pulling the plugs will tell you weather your running rich or lean an a/f gauge sometimes wont tell you the full truth whether its r/l but the plugs never lie!!!

When i get my tune i am getting the rev limiter pushed to 7k so on the window switch should i do 3000-6800 cause i have heard that its bad for it to shift on nitrous due to predet and backfire? any insight?

Shifting on nitrous has to do with the trans living longer, not a fear of backfires.
