Nitrous or Methanol For Cooling on Turbo?
Im gonna ask yalls suggestions for pros and cons on cooling effects for boosted engines.... If i go with a 50 shot (Dry) of nitrous i can mount it right after the turbo before my intercooler to cool the intake air coming from the turbo, this will also give me the benifit of watching iats still since my sensor is down stream of this.... Now with the Methanol injection i would need to mount the nozzles right behind the iat sensor and i would just have to guess how low my iats are which in turn will make me pull my high iat fuel table, because my sensor is behind the nozzles not seeing the real cooling effects of the methanol, sorry if i kinda slur all this in just read it a couple times lol and give me your best shot of pros and cons.. Im seeing iats as high as 160 Degrees in full boost and i know nos will knock it down 60-75 degrees what will methanol do? Thanks for any suggestions

I would spray after the intercooler. Reason being the bigger the difference in temperature of the ambient and intercooler, the more effective the intercooler is. So you would want it to do as much work as possible, then cool it even further with the meth or nitrous.

I agree with atomic.
If your runnin the stock truck intake, you can mount your IAT sensor in the egr port right behind the TB.
That way you can Mount the meth nozzle(s) anywhere between the intercooler and TB.
Do both meth and nitrous just for the fun factor

Im running a eldelbrock intake but i can always tap the intake, my iat sensor has an open element, do the closed element iat sensors work just as good? I know the open element will get damaged if its misted on

Hum. Im not sure on that one.
I ran a IAT out of a Fbody and sprayed a bunch of meth over it.
Im runnin a MSD IAT now in the EGR port but no more boost/meth on the truck.
Maybe somebody will chime in.

I say run both. I am going to do that next year too. I just got the NOS kit, and will be running a 100 shot. I also agree with Atomic, I think you will get more out of your intercooler if you spray after it.
