What are the down and upsides to both systems?

wet is the best. it injects fuel and nitrous and keeps it from going lean and melting your pistons. dry injects only nitrous, causing a lean condition

A dry kit is injected before the Mass Air Sensor, which uses the computer to compensate for fueling needs of nitrous. IF your fuel system is not up to the task of fueling for the extra nitrous, it causes a lean condition.

The wetter the better.

I personally like dry shots, nothing wrong with them at all, just has to be done in alittle different way as far as tuning and must have injectors to support your application and the amount of nitrous you plan to spray.
I personally have a wet but have done dry many times,I like them both

I agree as well. As Charlie can attest to, there are a few tricks you can do in the tune to pull timing when a dry shot is applied through the MAF. I like knowing that my tune is set-up in a way that I can run an aggressive N/A tune or just kick on the switch and spray a dry shot without a reflash. I also like the fact that dry is "generally" safer than a wet in regards to an intake backfire. For whatever it is worth, I have both a wet (DP system) and a dry kit on my truck.

I never understood why people are so brainwashed into thinking 1 is better than the other.

We run a wet on our GT500, and I ran a wet on my Eclipse when it was installed. I personally like wet kits with safety accessories.
