Im on a 100 shot now, and have future plans for a dedicated fuel system and a 200 shot. I have no solid times to date since I've only been to the track once with nitrous and had several factors working against me. I haven't made a clean pass yet, and I haven't figured out my suspension yet either

I've done it. Better make sure your tune up is good or a day can turn shitty real quick.

Well, my nitrous fun will have to wait a bit again. Not happy at all with what I bought off a guy on tech. Lucky for me I got a great deal and can make some money off of it for a better kit with some goodies!

me too, thats how im planning on justifying a ls1 or 6.0 build...by spraying a high mileage 5.3 with a decent size shot repeatedly lol

i love nitrous. ever since first time i hit it in my old 96.

i bought tnt's big noids, with lines to a nozzle for 40 bucks off someone. and they work. im gonna rebuild them, add feed line and a bottle and i have a full kit, and my buddys selling me a 10lber for 25 bucks he got off someone. i learned somehow to be patient and wait for good deals.. which is amaing.

and as far turbo vs nitrous in pro mod world its crazy. turbos defy the whole point of drag racing. they leave easy and make up for it at the big end. where drag racing has always been get out the hole hardest you can nd ride it out.

i know for awhile in the pro mod class it was back and fourth between nitrous and turbo. as far as the level most of us are on i think turbo the way to go.. big enough turbo u get going before full boost hits to regulate tire spin (unlike nitrous just instantly hitting and the tq gains.. even though turbos do hit hard lol) but the best is a turbo truck pulls insane top end which helps with our lack of aerodynamics.

if i had the bread i would go turbo. but honestly i hardly ever get on my truck, so having the nitrous on tap is cool. and with the cam and full bolts on that will be fun enough for around town.

sorry for such a long post

Thats what im thinking too. Build it up enough NA to have some power for dd and keep the spray on standby for the track/roll race

i think the main reason turbo setup's dont work for some is because they think way outside the box. it seems the budget 4.8/5.3's with ls6 cam's and a small turbo are the ones that are fast as ****! i use to run nitrous in my 5.3, it ran 7.30's with a 150 or 175 shot cant remember. but what it did have was a 4k converter,410's,and an aggressive cam,1500$ PRC heads and added compression which was horrible on the street. now i have 342's a 3000 converter and bone stock 317's with 9.5:1 compression.. big difference.

you dont see alot of 9 or 10 second NITROUS trucks driving around on the street cause it eat's up gas or it has a turbo 350/400 in it which isnt very streetable. you cant compare turbo's and nitrous as bad as people dont want to admit it you just cant.

but i do still use nitrous.. a 50 shot... right before my boost kicks in

Good luck. I put a few bottles through my 240,000+ motor and it never shyed away. Nitrous, unless done wrong, probably won't be your ticket to a new motor.
