Another tuner being recommended now is called "Spartan". Dpf delete tunes are giving a big increase in fuel mileage.

With a DPF delete and a flash tuner, can anyone tell me what kind of fuel mileage increase you are getting out of the 08, 6.4? Any information or a source would be great.

Thanks
Arthur

Go with the H&S tuner. I currently have it on my 2008 6.4. I love it, it's one of the better tuners... Spartan is good, but it is locked to your truck... SCT is good too, but H&S has great customer service.

H&S will be able to switch between trucks if you decide to get a different truck.

Also go with a Flo - pro 4" doc/dpf delete and an S&B intake.

AFE makes a good intake, but S&B is just as good and prob a better price.

These are the mods I have on my truck and I love them.

You are gonna see a significant increase in mpg, but your lie0meter will tell you about 26 mpg. But you'll prob end up around 17 mpg highway (or better), just gotta try and keep your foot out of it lol!

DONT BUY FLASH TUNERS.. they don't tune the transmission... get a quality tuner, not a crappy one.

The 3 mods above will cost you around 1300 and are easy to install... well worth the money, and pay for themselves.

My buddys tow rig has something on the dash that says Black MAX. it has dpf delete, S&G? intake, aftermarket head studs, and then some boost bleed off controller thing... not sure what it is to be honest with you. looks like manual boost controller under the hood but they said it was "bleading off boost pressure" so i dont know if they tricking the conputer to thinking it has less boost or what..

I do know that the F550 will light those 19.5 dulleys threw second gear from a roll.. granted it has like 4:88 gears or something crazy..

Here is two videos of it... I probably wouldnt copy his set up as its always breaking parts.. Im not sure if its the parts, or the 30K+ lbs he pulls wide freaking open.. I do know that has lifted the heads twice, It now something and ARP head studs to keep them on..

this was with about 80 gallons of fuel in it, it has one of those titan tanks, and a tool box tanks that flows into the titan.. You can see how low its geared though... it goes into over drive about 60 mph.

I have installed 3 spartan tuners in 6.4 trucks and all I can say is damn they add power, I did spartan 250 DPF/CAT delete tunes, CAI and delete pipe on all 3 and there was an extended cab one with 35's a ranch hand bumper replacement with winch tool boxes full of crap (we weighed the truck and it was 9100lbs) running 9.0's in the 1/8th mile. One of the guys ran it top speed and it ran 139 mph which I thought was insane in a truck that big.

Sorry i didnt seee the MPG questions but, one of the guys said he got 21ish on a trip on the interstate running 70-75. I cant verify this as I wasn't with him but he said that was his average for that trip.
