Wish I knew why. They come off when I snap the throttle shut after a hard pull. I've been babying it if I go hard by backing off slowly. It's like the tensioner can't take up the slack quick enough when letting off. I replaced both tensioners because they did have some play, brand new HD belts and it still does it. It's only happened 3 times so far though, enough to cause a problem though.

Little update.
I determined that the blowoff valve that I had was too small (1.25" pipe) so I upgraded and got a 50mm one from EMUSA. It was a bummer cutting off the nice welds a friend did on the old one, but I was able to get some practice on tig for myself.
I ordered GMC trim on ebay. It's stainless steel and really nice actually. Fully covered with 3M on the back.
Some guys checking it out at my club's show, Show Off Showdown.
Team LS truck ftw. The C10 has a nitrous 5.3.
The spring in the new blow off valve was super stiff and I didn't realize it for a week. So it wasn't opening at all. That, combined with the old one being too small (even though it worked) I think ruined my turbo. Not to mention the couple hot shutdowns I had to do when I lost belts and broke the harmonic balancer. So the thrust bearing was shot. I started looking into it when I was getting a lot of smoke out of the exhaust at idle. Like a constant stream.
There was .013" of play which caused the wheel to rub on the housing.
I called Precision and the only helpful thing he had to say was that the cost of a rebuild will not cost more than a brand new turbo ($1700). I was not about to put another grand into this one since they are the only company that can touch it. I looked into 3rd party rebuilders but they are not able to get parts. So I said screw it, now I have a nice paperweight for now and just ordered a good Borg Warner S480 from forcedinductions.com
I'm currently waiting on the S480 to come so I can start driving the truck again. It's been down for a few weeks now. New turbo is a T4 1.25A/R exhaust housing and race cover. I'm looking forward to it. As for the Precision, I'll hang onto it for a little bit and eventually send it in for a rebuild and see what they say for the cost. Hopefully it's cheap enough that I can sell it and make some money back once it's fixed.

I messaged Jose (owner) back and forth for about a week and it's what he recommended. The S480 has a T6 turbine side standard, it cost extra to get a T4 and the 1.25 should work well with that, being a smaller than normal housing. I was hoping to have it for this weekend to rework my downpipe but my card hasn't even been charged yet so I don't know if it's even shipped. It's been 10days.

I don't have any immediate plans to put it on the dyno again. There's a performance shop 10 minutes from me that had a dyno day last year, I'm waiting to see if they do it again this year. I don't know what kind of comparison I would see between the two besides maybe spool time. I'll be running the same amount of boost. I am wondering if there's any reason to have the tune checked over once it's in.

Yeah, like I said I ordered it on a Thursday and he said it would probably ship the next Monday. Well, 2 weeks later my credit card was finally charged. SO I'm hoping that means it's on it's way to me. I have sent two emails to them (first one asking for a recomendation on which unit, then another when I was trying to find out if it shipped yet) and I never got a response from either. I called and left a message and they called me back the same day though.
So I just hope it comes this week. The snow is coming soon in MN!
