Thank you. Yeah, that was a fun day.

Truetrac came today. Looks pretty sweet. And dropping the axle off to be snadblasted tomorrow. Build and swap should go pretty quick. I also ordered a swap kit (spring perches, u-bolts and plates) tonight. Maybe have it installed in the next few weeks. It's up to my friend's schedule since we'll be doing it at his house on his hoist.

Axle is back and I painted it today. I have all of the rest of the parts to get this completely built and swapped, we'll see when I get around to doing it. Me and a buddy are planning on having it be a weekend project. Drive it into his garage and drive it back out soon after, just might need to have the drive shaft modified.

I'm interested in your build as I plan to do one myself in the near future... but I am curious why you painted it before doing all the fab work on it?

You're talking about painting the axle? It's been a little under a week since it was blasted and the surface rust was beginning pretty quick. The cast iron is really sensitive. So mostly for rust prevention. It will be easy to grind paint off and touch up new welds when the time comes. For now, it's protected though. There's only a little bit of welding that needs to be done on the axle. 2 spring pads and maybe my swaybar mounts.

I figured that's what it was. I probably would have used a weld-thru primer then paint after fab work. Are you going to remove the existing spring perches and bump pads? What about shock mounts?

I'm pretty sure I can keep the shock mounts as is. I haven't seen any info on somebody having to move those and I haven't made any measurements for myelf yet I bought a whole axle swap kit that came with new perches, U bolts, U bolt plate and I think it has shock mounts too. The spring perches will have to be moved outward 1" each. I'll probably just keep the bump stop pads on there even though I don't need them because of my notch and lowering kit.

My CRX was down for a week because my clutch went out. Caused by a bad input bearing and leaking seal on the transmission. I was forced to drive the truck which has been parked for a while, trying to avoid using it during the winter... salty roads.

The first day I took the truck to work, I got pulled over on the way home for loud exhaust. It's been the exact same since I got the turbo done last June, and just now I get pulled over, after 4,000 miles. My license plate also had snow covering it because it got kicked up while driving. Cop gave me a warning.

Oh well, it's been annoying me the whole time too anyway, a bad drone during normal acceleration RPMs. So I removed my Flowmaster 50 series muffler and put in a Magnaflow. So far (1 day) it is way better. The sound is way deeper all around and it sounds awesome on the power. Cruising volume is perfect. It's still a little annoying in easy acceleration range but the sound is way more tolerable. And the straight through design may help power a littler. Some day I'll find out.

Also, here's what the transmission in my CRX looked like.

Atleast we didn't get any snow recently, I've been bummin my 2wd sierra around all winter long but now have to sell it because a I bought a 2010 Z71 to play with.

And I saw your truck on the driveway coming home from the backside of St. micheal a little while back because of a crash on I94, had to do a double take for a second haha. Was like hey, I know who's that is, someday I'll hear it run lol.
