The 8.1 avalanche comes with a small 5-7 gal. aux fuel tank in the spare tire area. I would assume the Avy and SUV's share a common frame

Ive heard that... however I'm needing another 25 gallon or so... lol

I'm running two types of fuel so I really want two main tanks so to speak.

Thanks for the heads up however

have you thought about making a fuel tank where the spare tire goes?
I rem the guy on the z71 forum did a F100 18? Gal tank in his Avalanche. It was pretty neat.

Plans are to mount a 25gal. fuel cell in place of the spare tire and have the fill behind the rear plate... we'll see soon I hope

Total of 50 gallons?
How you plan on doin the pickups? Let the rear pump to the main tank and let it just pull fuel like it currently is working right now?

My brothes old work truck was RCLB 3500 with a work bed, but it had a rear and front tank. The rear tank pumped to the front tank a little at a time i guess to keep the same amount in each tank.

If I understand correctly he is wanting to run to different kinds of fuel so likely he will not be mixing them together prior to pumping them to the engine. My guess is he will have a selector switch that will go between the two tanks. Does that cummins have a mechanical fuel pump or are you still using your factory electric one?

ohhhh i forgot about that....

Just put a regular pump in the cell and use it as a Lift Pump? Or do they use a Lift Pump?

Mechanical lift pump that is engine driven... kinda like an old school small block Chevy pump...

Anyways... I'm running 2 high volume switch valves from greasecar... only ones I could find that would hold up to heated oil... I'll run one for the feed and one for the return to keep tanks from blending...

I've got the switching valves... just need the tank and plumbing.

Hey guys...

Been daily driving the truck all month and the trans seems to be doing good other then the slight delayed reverse.

Waiting on fundage to get the next stage of the build going... hopefully the 2nd fuel system and the HX35 turbo will be at least started on next month... 20psi feels pretty good... cant wait to see what 40+ does. From research, it should put me in the ballpark of 500+ ft. lbs to the pavement with supporting mods. Gonna have to find a way to stuff an air-air intercooler in it soon.

Well.. that's all I got for now. Not much of an update... but waiting on money always sucks.

WOAH...this is badass!!
Congrats on your badass build! I love this thing and glad to see people swapping other motors in these Chevy's, there are some really cool engines out there!
