07 silverado turbo build

So you think picking up cooler air before sending it to a hot turbo, then compressing it through the turbo would make more power than what he has now? The more important air temperature comes between the turbo outlet and throttle body.

beat me to it... no matter where you pick up air and no matter how cold it is when you pick it up when you send it into a piping hot turbo it all comes out the same, which is the reason for the intercooler and a large one at that...

It does make a difference what the initial air temp but when youre running down the road your IATs are only a few degrees hotter than ambient, so IMO its not really worth it to plumb up something to pull directly from outside air.

Did you have to move the coolant resevoir in order for the turbo outlet to clear it? Could you clock the outlet straight down and then use a 90* coming towards the side of the radiator or would that put the piping too low for the intercooler inlet.
Can you get some pics of how you mounted the intercooler? Im guessing that you used 3" cold piping? Lookin' good man...I have a feeling if I ride in your monster that I'll be getting a turbo real soon
