Father daughter project//tinker toy//cruiser//deer lease//off roader//**** around vehicle. Body panels are cheap so no worries about replacing those. First thing I'd like to do is convert it to a 5spd manual and get the AC hooked back up and running. Then get the rust fixed (thankfully it's a Texas truck). Then build the spare engine up that I've got and drop it in. Then roll cage and paint. But let's see what happens. For now I just want to drive it and have fun with it.

Drove it around yesterday for a while. This thing is so white trash it's awesome. Actually drives half decent for being what it is. Had my copilot with me also:

Went out this morning and it was dead. Nothing clicked on. Hooked up some cables and still nothing. Hmm. Brand new gel battery only had 3v. Pulled the alternator and it spun a little to freely. Went and had it tested and it was putting out 0.0v. Bought a new one of those. Also noticed the radiator was low on coolant so got some of that. Got some rear view mirror adhesive so I can get that glued on and then I can take the front doors off. I'm going to rig up a pulley system to take the top off tomorrow.

Does anyone know where I can buy a whole new tail gate for this thing? I can find tail gates for the pick ups or non removable tops all day but not ones that have the glass inside them. Otherwise it's time to buy some sheet metal and get to patching.

Found the original options list in the glovebox. Had factory quad shocks up front and the mounting points are still there. Factory AC. Originally a 302 with a 4 spd auto. Two tone paint with one color being black. Which tells me the black I'm seeing beneath the white on the fenders is probably original. To bad every body panel is trashed from rocks.

Not much going on here. Relocated the aftermarket gauges from the bottom of the dash where you can't see them to the factory locations so you can see them. Ended up being a lot harder than it should have been as the oil pressure and water temp were mechanical so I was having to pull out copper tubing and whatever the water temp hose is. But they all work and no leaks and now the lights on them actually work also.

Took her out to Hidden Falls adventure Park today for some rock crawling. Had a great time. This thing can definitely do more than I have the skills for. Once I get some of the videos from my GoPro loaded up I'll post some.
