Painted a few parts today. Rust holes make great hangers for parts to dry. Also got the t-case linkage adjusted.
Also replaced the vac modulator with an adjustable one and pulled the governor to replace the weights on it and try to get this thing to shift at more than 3500rpm at full throttle. In the process I dumped over a quart of fluid out. Went to replace the detent cable and it started spewing and I said **** it I'm done for the day.
At least I had help in the garage today. Believe it or not she was actually getting tools for me and put my beer in a coozy. She must want me to buy her something.

Got the governor torn down and reassembled and reinstalled. Started with the middle springs and weight and will adjust from there. New springs on the right and old ones on the left.

Little more progress. Anyone know the thread size on the studs for the king pin? I need to clean mine up. 2 of the studs came out with the nuts. I also need some new nuts as 1 or 2 of mine got hammered on pretty hard with the impact. Thankfully the previous owner had rebuilt them right before selling them and everything is nice and tight.

Well that was an adventure. After about 15-20mins I was able to get the old steer arm studs out of the knuckle and went to install the ARP studs. They were longer than the factory stuff and of course didn't thread in all the way. So out comes the creative side and I made a thread chaser from one of the old studs. Cleaned out the threads well enough. Still had to use a wrench on the studs to get them in the last couple of threads.
Got the arm on and torqued down to 75ftlbs. Don't know if that's right but I read that in a few places. But it's on. Now to lengthen the drag link and get it all bolted back up.
So many tools for 4 bolts.

I spoke to ORD at length and while this truck will see rocks, it'll primarily be street driven and with that we didn't feel the expense of crossover was worth it. It's also a touch iffy on clearance at only 4" of lift.

Joys of working on other people's projects. I went to install the link between the pitman arm and steering arm and discovered the tie rod ends on the existing link are different sizes so now I get to go parts hunting.
The first picture is what came off the old pitman arm and fits the new pitman arm and steering arm. The second picture is what came off the old steering arm and is to small to fit anything.
I searched these part numbers and came up with something called a Mevotech tie rod?
