Looks like I caught a leaking seal before it got to bad. Bearings feel kinda rough also. Looks like the rear end is getting new bearings, seals, hardware, shoes, and drums. Yay.

Awesome races and bearings. Can’t wait to tear the front axle down.

Had to make some brackets for the emergency brake cables. They aren’t pretty and I don’t care.

Slowly getting there. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get the other side put on. Then I get to tear the front end down.

Geeeeeeez. Can't catch a break with this thing. The more you do the more you have to do.

Joys of buying someone else’s project. I’ll replace the r&p early next year with some 4.88’s and a Detroit but for now it’s getting new fluid and life is moving on. Hopefully going to tear into the front axle tomorrow.

Holy cow you really can't catch a break! 4.88s and a Detroit will be worth it though.

Wife keeps reminding me I wanted a project. Not sure this is what I had in mind haha. That’s alright. I’ll go through it bit by bit and it’ll just make it that much better. It’s definitely testing my skills and making me learn new things which is fun.

Next year should be exciting as I’m planning the 383 build and the re-gear. 450hp//450tq high compression with locked 4.88 geared tons should be a ******* riot. I might even throw some nitrous at it for fun.

What this thread has taught me is to never trust a brother in law to "look at" a vehicle I'm interested in buying.

The 383 would likely kill most of the stuff you've been fixing so It will pay off in the end. Still waiting for some awesome offroad footage.

Lmao. Well in his defense, he did tell me it was a mud truck.

I’ll get this truck to hidden falls at some point this year. Praying to all the gods of all the religions that the front axle is the last thing for 2020.
