Shop just called. Apparently I can’t count and I had a 3 pin carrier instead of a 4 pin so we gotta order a new carrier. Surprisingly it was actually a limited slip although it’s never worked. Tech said the clutches crumbled when he split it apart. Also need new inner axle seals on the front axle which I’m not surprised and one of the front calipers is grinding on a rotor so they are getting a new bracket to fix that. Always freaking something.

Also needed a new yoke because the old one was scored so bad along the seal it was leaking. New yoke came with different u joint so had to order 1350 to 1410 u joint to match the driveshaft. But everything is back together and once the u joint arrives Tuesday I can pick it up.

Picked the truck up today from the gears and lockers and it started making an awful grinding sound when easing off the throttle and when I got home there was fluid on the rear diff that had come up through the breather tube. Looks like it gets to go back to the shop.

Final verdict is everything looks good on their end. They tore everything down and all the bearings look fine. On the lift they can hear some noise that sounds like it’s coming from the tail shaft on the transfer case. They also said the pinion angle is bad and that might be some of it also so I’m having them install some shims to fix that issue. Pinion is pointing down some which with the thicker gear they probably overfilled it which was causing it to come out of the breather. So hopefully when I get back in the next 10 days it’ll be better.

Got the 6* shim in and spaced the transmission mount down about an inch and that helped a lot but it’s still there above 50mph. Rear end is no longer puking fluid either. I still need to start saving for a new driveshaft. They weren’t lying about a broken transmission mount. I don’t know when it broke but it’s been fixed before.

Since the wife got Covid and we are quarantined, decided to waste a little time and weld up the last few joints on my exhaust that were leaking. Ignore the lumpy ones. Those were with my old welder. My new welder makes prettier ones but I’m not a pretty welder haha. Also ignore the trail of transmission fluid. Dang adapter keeps dripping. Thought I had gotten it all dried up but I was obviously wrong.
