Thanks. Every bushing on the truck has now been replaced. Engine, transmission, shock, body, leaf springs, radiator mounts, front spring hanger, rear shackle, exhaust hangers.

Now to focus on the audio install. I’ve had two 12’s sitting in the garage with a 1000w amp since thanksgiving. The box will go down the entire side of the truck on both sides and house a 6x9 that will be behind the front seats and the subs will reside in the back by the tailgate. Got a new head unit to install in the center console as well so I can have Bluetooth and regular radio. Currently I’ve just got a Bluetooth receiver hooked to an amp and all control is through my phone which can be a pain while driving.

Here’s a good shot to show the difference in how the engine is sitting. Look at the space between the balancer and crossmember.

That is a massive difference. Any change in ride quality with all the updated bushings etc.?

Oh yea. Massive difference. It actually responds when you turn or hit a bump instead of just clunking haha. The new motor mounts are incredible. Turn left and goose it and it feels like it’s going to tip over from the motor torquing. Now to get a new driveshaft in the rear to fix the angles and the driveline will be solid.

Little bit of joy arrived in the middle of this frozen hell.

Ohhhhh that's nice! Where do you plan on mounting the box? And what subs?

Behind the back seats. They are just Rockford Fosgate 12’s. Nothing special. I just need some boom. The 2 crappy 6x9’s and two 4” dash tweeters don’t exactly lend themselves to bass haha. I’m going to be moving the 6x9’s closer to the front seat so I can hear the music while driving.

Got about 20mins outside while one of the kiddos slept. Dual 4ohm coils wired down to 2 ohms. Amp is 2 ohm stable in stereo and is rated at 800w max per channel. Speakers are 500w max per so there is plenty of head room. Probably could have gone a little larger speaker but this should give me some solid sound.

Started yanking the previous owners crap out and got the sub box positioned. Going to be moving the 6x9’s down to the floor behind the front seats. Out of the area people put their feet but closer to me and should have a better sound stage than mounted on top of the rear fenders blowing up. Also ripped out the crappy wiring he had run. New head unit will be mounted in the center console of the Tuffy for easy finger tip control. At least the sub amp will be mounted under the passenger seat but I may be able to squeeze the speaker amp in there as well. All new 0ga wiring from the battery to a distribution block and then 4ga to the amps. All new 14ga for the speakers. Dash speakers probably need some upgrading from the Walmart jobs that I put in to get something going when I bought the truck. Don’t think they’ll like the 100w I’ll be sending to them haha. Going to be interesting trying to hide wires with no carpet or panels. I’ll figure something out. Maybe run some type of conduit under the truck? Could just wire loom it and have it run low along the edges.

Got the new badge installed my wife gave me for Christmas.

Think I’m going to mount the amps on the back of the sub box. Trying to eliminate as many wire runs as I can.
