That’s always an option but I’d prefer that to be last.

The annoying part is the engine and power harnesses are long enough to go to the glove box which is where I want to mount the ecm. The transmission harness is about a foot short.

I’m guessing adding onto the harness is a warranty voider?

Perhaps depinning it and repinning with longer wire may be better.

Pretty certain the warranty is expired at this point haha.

I could de-pin but let’s face it, with my current build speed and my resistance to wiring, I’d rather drill a 3” hole.

Thats cool! Our deer are small here, rack size and body size. The coastal deer have it tough though, not much agriculture on the coast.

Forgot to order the grommets but this is my last Friday to make progress so I pulled the wires into the cab and got a temp oil pressure gauge setup. I’ll buy the $163 sensor for the Holley system once I’m happy with everything. Was going to do the plugs and wires today but the insulating boots I bought for the wires don’t fit. The wire ring is like 1/16” to small. Going to return them and see if I can find some slightly larger ones. Then just a fused relay block for all the switched circuits, terminate, fluids, and uh ya. Should be time to turn the key and see what happens.

Had to change the end on the coil wire.

I’ve got the wires all ran and laid out for everything. Just gotta motivate myself to spend the effort to actually terminate and do the things. If I could spend a solid 6-8hrs in the shop, I could have this thing ready to fire. It’s all down to wiring and a couple of loose ends like connect throttle, prime oil, set timing, install breathers, install o2 sensor, fluids, and check for fuel leaks.

Two questions for those who may know.

1. Does the switched 12v for the transmission controller need to be hot while cranking?

2. I was going to tap off of the pink wire on the ignition switch for my hot while cranking and use it to trigger two relays, one for ECM and one for MSD. Any reason not to or is there a better location to grab that power?
