Yea to slowly take the heat away, ill use the pedal where i can but there will be some spots that might be pretty tough and will have to just use the handle.... Its pretty hard to hold your hand steady and not to mention your going in a circle around a pipe lol

Yeah, Pipe welding around small diameter tubes, out of position and confined in tight portions of the cab has got to be challenging.
Do anything you can to brace that hand steady. Another huge help can be a magnifying glass in your helmet, they sell them at welding supply shops that clip right behind the shield glass.

General idea what the cage will weigh. You are using cromoly? Steel is approximatly 125% the weight of cromoly if I am correct?
I am hoping the first time to the track with 100-150 shot I will need a cage. Maybe less nitrous if it works out correctly.

Id have to guess the cage will weigh around 75#'s or less, I also cut weight in other places where I could to retain stock ascetics but I didn't have patience to retain the stock dash so I'll build a Sheetmetal one and powdercoat it....I'm gonna cut the base down on the seats today to lower them in the cab of the truck for helmet clearance on the cage.. If that don't work then I'll just have to go racing seats but I don't see it being a problem

just a thought, but instead of the sheet metal dash, the 88-94 dash work very well with a cage, the bars will run through were the fatory speakers were and all you have to do is notch the speaker grilles, not really heavy either. im in the process of putting mine back together now

I wouldn't be able to see over that dash while sitting in my seat I don't think, it's a good idea though I'll check on it, what year is your truck? Thanks
