1999 GMC Sierra RCSB 4x4 build
Well picked this up yesterday. 4.8, auto trans, 4x4. Interior is mint after cleaning it up. Body needs rockers but the rest is solid. Picked it up for $800. Has new brakes all around, new u joints as well. Going to be a fairly slow build depending on funds..
Short term plans-
Fix small things like door handles, windows and blower motor resistor
Change fluids
Replace rockers and get rid of the rest of the rust
Plasti dip black
Tint
4/6 drop with spindles, keys, and flip kit
New balljoints, tie rods, pitman and idler arm
New shocks
BB tune, intake and exhaust
Long term plans-Summer 2013 most likely
TBSS replicas in gunmetal
Denali grille and headlights
Future plans-who knows when
Built 6.0 with 4l80e, 14 bolt rear end. I if I end up selling my tahoe, i may take the built 4l65e out of it and throw it in the truck. Its held up to a 6.0 in my heavy tahoe, so it should be alright in the light rcsb

i got super lucky..I was gonna buy it from this kid last summer for like 400 bucks, but then he realized it was worth more..tried to sell it for 3k and never did..saw him at the bar and hadnt even thought about it in months, said 900 and i got it for 800 lol..definatly needs work, tires are shot and small things here and there, but it will give me something to do over the winter

Well I finally had some time to dig into the truck the last few nights. Found a bag of service records for last 10 years. The guy who first owned it took it in every time for work and put over 150k on in 4 years lol. Has a newer fuel pump, newer FP regulator, new front brakes, new u joints, new door pins, weather stripping, new MAF, new O2 sensors etc..
Checked the filter last night and this is what i found..it sat in his yard for a while apparently. No harm done though and i got it all cleaned up.
Cleaned the TB out as it was all gunked up, changed the fluids in the front diff, t case, engine etc. Everything looked decent, so thats a good sign. Threw some HIDs in, seafomed it and changed the plugs. It runs better than my tahoe suprisingly with over 300k on it.When I seafoamed it, it smoked for a good 30 minutes..longest ive ever had it happen, but the intake was just caked with carbon so i can see why. I had to scrape the TB to get it clean, i cant believe it ran so smooth before
got a list of things to order to get it back to good working condition
-window motor for drivers side and regulator for pass side
-blower motor resistor
-cabin filter
-tailgate hinges
-valve cover gaskets
-new style pcv valve
Found all of it for around 150 bucks, so thats not bad at all.
I think im going to replace the fuel lines and brake lines, anyone know the easiest way of going about the fuel lines? Can you buy stock lines to replace everything or and im going to have to bend them all myself?

Little update
Finished the interior..new window motors, tracks, blower motor resistor, shifter and shifter cable, cleaned everything up etc.
Ripped all the brake lines off and replaced them with stainless lines. they were rather crunchy lol
Ordering a 4/6, DJM arms in front, flip kit and notch in rear..belltech SP shocks all around
New tie rods, pitman, idler etc in front.
Powerstop powder coated red calipers, Powerslot drilled and slotted rotors, EBC green stuff pads all around.
6.0/4l80e swap hopefully this summer. Found a guy to do my tcase input shaft for $50 and I can do the rest.Probably run a 23x/23x cam with a 3600-4k verter. Keeping the 10 bolt in the rear for now, just going to add a tru trac. My tru trac and 10 bolt have lasted in the tahoe for almost a year and i beat the **** out of it..plus its 6200 lbs with 24s and a 6.0. I should be ok with a lighter truck and lighter wheels..4x4 will help with launches and take some stress off the rear end. The rest of the time it will just be spinning and not hooking lol.
