I used the stuff from Orielys. Ceramic Engine paint. Ill have to look at the can for the brand. Used the gloss black and the Cast Aluminum. I de-greased everything good and painted. I did have a small problem on the pan by the oil filter where it didn't get cleaned good enough the first time, but the rest went on nice.

Got ambitious last night. Got the motor finished up and got the truck tore apart. Motor is about an hour away from being ready to pull.

Trunion Upgrade- Took about 20 minutes, super easy

Completed engine looks great on the stand. Basically the same color combo I am going with on mine.

I am planning to do my trunion upgrade tomorrow and bought an arbor press from Harbor Freight to use instead of my vise. Looks like that is what you used as well. Glad to hear it was a painless job.

Im happy with how it came out. Too bad the rest of the truck is lacking for now haha

Ya the arbor press was a breeze. Push the old parts out into a container (needle bearings everywhere). Press one bearing in, flip it, drop in the trunion, set the washer in and set the rocker set up in there, new bearing on top and press. turns into about 1 min per rocker once you get the first done.

got the T case out, man what a bitch! After I got it out, all 20 so of the bolts that hold the case together were so rusted that they didnt really have edges. Had to hammer a smaller socket on every god damn bolt. Finally got it apart after about 2 hours.

Got everything done besides the last snap ring that holds the input shaft and gears into the case. I cant get that bastard off. I dont have a set of the special horseshoe snap ring pliers, and I broke my nice craftsman ones trying to get it apart. Have to regroup on that today after work.

excuse the messy floor, we just got 4" of rain so everything got wet and the frost is still coming out of the ground.Fun

Hopefully get the motor pulled tonight, running by next weekend.

Thanks. No I didnt plan on it. Whats the benefit on doing so? Guess I never thought about it.

Got the motor out last night. Need to run new fuel lines as the current ones are crusty as hell. Might as well with everything out. Also going to clean up what I can before putting everything back in.

Well, I know the lifted 4x4 guys use them to fix the yoke angle issues, but that's not a factor for guys with stock height/lowered trucks. I was actually considering using one on my build and was seeing if you or anyone else had any experience with them? Sorry, I know that didn't answer your question.

Those lifts move the front diff lower, making the DS angle worse. Since the front diff and t case stay in the stock location, I guess I wouldn't see the need for one I dont think? I guess I really dont know either haha
