There are different 9.5" 14 bolts depending on what vehicle it came from. The one I swapped is a direct bolt in and that's why I choose it. It came from a 2005 2WD Silverado. I forget exactly, but there are other trucks that had this rear. It's somewhat difficult to find. Go to carpart.com and search for a rear from 2005. Select 9.5, AXN. The AXN is the rear that'll swap. This is the easiest but most expensive way to do this.
If you grab a rear from an earlier OBS truck the perches, and possibly shock mounts, need to moved and you'll need an adapter or spacer for the brakes. Fortunately, these rear ends are cheap and easier to find, but require modification to fit. I do believe they're 3/4" wider, but it's unlikely you'd notice.
All of this info is in that sticky. I know there are others but Atomic and 1Fastbrick are pretty knowledgable.
EDIT:
Here's a link to the sticky.

So it was almost a wash for me. I sold the truetrac, bearing kit and all the parts I had collected. Next I'll sell the 10 bolt rear. I paid $900 shipped for the AXN 14 bolt, so this swap will end up costing me around $200-$300 and I don't have to mess around with pinion depth and all that.
A truetrac in the 14 bolt would be ideal, and maybe I'll do that one day, but I'm hoping the factory locker will hold up since I'm AWD.

I haven't read where the G80 broke in the 14 bolt. It's not all that common of a rear so maybe I just couldn't find an example of it breaking?

Honestly, I'm not sure.
Opened up the transfercase today.
Here's what I'm swapping.
The problem I'm having is my transfercase is leaking at the inner seal. I decided to replace the case half.
One thing that's different in the replacement half is this plug. It must be for a transfercase that has additional sensors. Luckily it came with a nice plug.
Here's something that's odd. The instructions say to install these clips.
My transfercase doesn't have these clips installed.
The picture shows them installed like this. It would be a tight fit. Should I pound them on?
