No seat so no one will be sitting back there lol. The sound deadening is a foam type and weighs literally almost nothing. The amp I just put in today and have a single 10 with a small tube that will be going in the truck that will probably weigh 30lbs total or so but worth it to have a stereo to enjoy. I have no plans of caging the truck. Just wanting to trim off what ever excess fat off it I can to make it preform its best for what it is. It has no high dollar parts on it but it does what I want it to do which is its fun to drive, hauls *** for a gas truck on big tires and it drives over stuff and does cookies real well but I also needed it to still be a truck when needed for things like getting compost or rock for my garden, towing my boat or tow Dolly. I basically just wanted something that was better then my buddies raptor for such things and I think the truck nails it pretty well for me.
just scaled it tonight and it weighs 4450lbs with just over 1/4 tank. Not bad for how heavy the wheels and tires are on it.

Have you already pulled the evap out completely? Headliner needs to go.

Evap stuff is gone. Headliner is gonna stay though. I hate cars in Oregon without headliners. Pulled the front crossmember today under the oil pan. It was 13.8lbs with bolts. Also plan on trimming more off the rear doors as they are starting to feel nice and light. Removed the interior handles in prep for it. I’d like to get as much forward weight off the truck as possible. There’s still some trimming to be done.
also sold my big boat yesterday for what I paid for it so I was happy about that. Spent a few hours cleaning it before the guy showed up and it turned out real beautiful but I enjoy my little boat a lot more and don’t feel like I could loose on it. I just installed a new 4 panel marine rocker panel with some 6” light bars and some 1” led deck lights. It all turned out looking really nice on the little old boat. I’ll have to take some pics next time I take it out.

You took the front crossmember off? Hmm..
Have you gone to a tubular trans c-member?

Just the one under the oil pan. I was reading and people pull them off without issue. And I was thinking that a tubular trans x member could definitely save some weight also. I kinda wanna pick up a second set of wheels and tires that are lighter for the truck also. In the mean time I’m gonna keep trimming off what I can, pretty sure I can at least get the truck to 4400lbs flat without me in it pretty easily.
dude I was just looking on eBay, tubular cross member for a 2wd 4l60e truck is $170, the one for the 4l80e conversion is $30. I’m gonna buy the cheap one and make it work for the 4l60e. That’s total bs lol.
trimmed a little more off the doors. Still have a ways to go but I’m liking the looks of it. Plan on cutting off excess bolt ends under the truck and a few other things like the tab that the charcoal canister was mounted to. I also think I’d like to remove the abs at some point but i gotta do some research first.
also pulled the parking brake and cables, 13lbs. Going to pull the inner brake shoes and anything else that can come off that I don’t need when I redo the rear end also.

Put some more lights on the front. They are super bright for some china specials. Been thinking about getting some 4” lift spindles. They are supposed to give you another 1” of track width as well in the front per side. Really happy with how this truck has been turning out. Planning on doing the gears in it again soon. Might have my Baja bug project sold today since I just lost interest in it. Trying to get my property cleaned up so I’ll be scrapping the suburban I bought for the s10 motor soon. If any one needs anything body wise and is near Oregon lmk. I’ll sell doors for like $20 a piece just to get them gone and not sell them for $80 a ton lol.
