Default 2000 ecsb z71 build thread

Figured I'd start a little build thread of my truck. Bought it in may 2012 bone stock. 2000 silverado 1500 ecsb Z71. 5.3l/60e/3.73 10 bolt. It was supposed to be a work truck and daily driver to leave mostly stock, until the mod bug bit me.....

It started out bone stock
[IMG][/IMG]

did some colormatching and temporary wheels
[IMG][/IMG]

saved for a bit and bought 33/12.50/18 Toyo Mt and Moto Metal 962 wheels. Also did leveling keys and a 3" block in the rear.
[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

stayed like this^ for about 6 months. truck was fresh out of the body shop where I just spent a lot of $$ repeairing bed rust. then this happens... my luck
[IMG][/IMG]

other side of bed started to rust so i sold it locally for $200 still dented/rusted and bought a bed off an 07 classic.
dat two tone.
[IMG][/IMG]

new bed was on for a couple days. a few hours before it was supposed to go in for paint we had a big snow storm and i tried to rescue a friends truck on some farmland and this happened. added some damage to my bed i had for a two days..
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

to the body shop it went. got tired of my chrome grille standing out so I had that painted as well as the cap.
[IMG][/IMG]

fresh out of paint
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

truck stayed like that for a while. then i gathered parts for HD conversion
added a zone 1.5" body lift so I didnt have to mess with lowering the front bumper.
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

in the mix in there somewhere last summer I got pacesetter longtube headers, intake, full exhaust, TSP220 cam, valve springs/pushrods etc. had it dyno tuned by Justune. The 5.3 made 268 to the HEAVY *** tires.

untuned
[IMG][/IMG]

tuned. exhaust is lt headers, ory, 18" bullet, aeroturbine 3030xl, 4" tailpipe to a dumped 6" tip.
[IMG][/IMG]

about a month ago the 5.3 lost almost all oil pressure at 150k.
currently in process of doing a motor swap on somewhat of a tight budget.

parts I have are
05 LQ4 with 80k
05 efans/radiator
lt headers from 5.3
220 cam from 5.3
ASP pullies
ported/polished TB
LS6 ported oil pump
LS2 timing
MSD wires from 5.3
yank tt3000 currently in
trucool 40k currently in
vette servo currently in

couple other odds and ends. swapping aero muffler for a 22" dynomax ultraflo and adding a DMH electric cutout. hoping to have it rolling and tuned in a month or so. not gonna mess with milling heads or intake mani swap until next summer when my income goes back up (lawn business) and I have free time from school. also want to do gears and 803 whenever this 60e goes lol. hoping to make 350 to a STOCK 245 tire with the above setup. we will see how it goes.

looking for opinions on what colors and what parts to pc or paint under the hood. i'm gonna clean it up real good this time around. any comments/advice appreciated. thanks fellas

I love this truck man, I follow the build religiously over on gmfs...I'm looking to run the same cam/stall setup on my truck whenever I get the funds, how do(did) you like it so far? Also, can't wait to see the 6.0 in there so hurry up lol

Thanks I appreciate it. I liked the cammed 5.3l setup I had but it's my first vehicle I've done performance stuff to so I don't have much to compare it to. But it ran good. Hoping the new set up will be a noticeable difference.

What leveling kit did you use to fit the 33s?

rough country keys. no reason to buy them though. just turn up your stock keys and get some longer shocks. I recommend Bilstein 5100s.
