2003 Silverado LS1 build
Well after much thought I decided that I'm not ready to get out of the truck game just yet. Had quite a few offers for damn near what I was asking and I just couldn't bring myself to part with it lol. Sooo going in to winter I figured it was time to give it some much needed speed
Picked up a low mileage (40k) LS1 that came out of a very pampered 01' Camaro SS over on LS1tech. All the covers and block are SUPER clean!
Gonna put a GT2-3 cam in it. Then the usual goodies... LS7 lifters, push rods, HD timing set, LS9 gaskets. It has the 241 heads on it which I think I will be dumping for a set of 317s (boost in mind) if I can find a decent low mileage set.
Truck it's going in. Not much to do cosmetically as it's pretty much where I want it. Eventually going to get rid of the escalade wheels for either TBSS 22s or some LTZ 20s.
After a nice little drive up to Cleveland with my wonderful wife who puts up with all of my bull ****
Previous owner had already cracked open the heads to get the lifters and cam out as he had sold them separately.
Few cans of brake cleaner and scotch brite pads later.

Thanks all!

Well the ultimate goal is to put a TVS1900 on top of the LS1. The main reason I'm choosing the GT2-3 cam is it performs well with stock heads and manifold exhaust (will probably still swap to long tubes eventually). As far as power levels go I hadn't really given much thought to it.. as long as I end up somewhere around 500hp I will be happy. I know I could have gotten pretty close to that by just throwing a turbo on the 4.8 with 12lbs of boost... but I prefer the "more cubes, less boost" approach.
Ya I think he said it had been on 2 or 3 Hot Rod Power tours.. so that's a good chunk of mileage right there lol. He had a lot of toys that seemed very well taken care of. A 71' Nova with a 400ci and a Whipple 5.0 blower!
