Dug around and found wiring diagrams for an 08 denali and my yukon, being an SLT about the only options my truck doesnt have are the 6.2/6L80 and the denali appearance package as far as i can tell from wiring and RPO codes anyway. I also verified that all the wires are there for the tu/td shifter in the column and at the bcm.... Already verified part numbers on bcm are same in mine as an 08 denali that was in the shop at work a couple weeks ago, only thing i still need to check at this point is the cluster part numbers....have shifter ordered already should be in monday.... Now just a matter of getting engine and trans together and in.... As far as i can tell at this point theres no reason a reflash wouldnt work to get everything including tu/td working.... Just baffles me that gm didnt go ahead and out the 6l80 in the nnbs suvs at least with the body change....

Hopefully i will be able to tear the 6l80 down this evening and see what all it needs, aside from the usual suspects(pump, 1-2-3-4/3-5-r drum and i suspect burnt 4-5-6/2-6 clutches) so long as i dont need a rear planetary i should be able to get it back together for a lot less than i realized. I am,for the moment anyway, planning on GM frictions and steels, sonnax zip kit and probably the sonnax 4-5-6 piston and 1-2-3-4 piston, and possibly the sonnax pump spring.

6l80 was pretty bad, but i have seen a lot worse, it had the old style pump in it that tended to lose pressure due to the seals rolling on themselves, already sort if planned on it having the older pump... Already had an ls bellhousing and pump cover, as well as a newer 3-5-R drum(more on that in a bit).
Valve body/tcm removed.... Screwed me up for a minute it had 10mm head bolts where the 10epc torx were supposed to be....
Trash in pan....
Vette bellhousing/pump ready to come off
Pump face not too bad... Looks worse than it was...
The bellhousing side was worse than the pic shows.....
1-2-3-4 clutches burnt fairly well....
3-5-r was TOAST!!!!! Hardly any material left on the frictions.... Could see the crack in the drum, no air check needed!!!
Slight bowing of the 3-5-r clutches!!!

Think these are 4-5-6 clutches...
Snap ring from hell!!!!
Center support which is also the 2-6 and low/reverse clutch housing...
The output planetary assembly
Output ring gear... All teeth intact!!

4-5-6 hub came apart and the splines are chewed up from the stripped 4-5-6 clutches
More of the 4-5-6 clutches
2-6 clutches dont look too bad
Likewise with the low/reverse
No chewed up teeth on the planetary
Everything going back in temporarily without clutches and an output shaft
Center support back in
Went ahead and set the new 3-5-r in with the clutches.... The vise grips are the 1-2-3-4/3-5-r instalation band tool!!
Ls bellhousing in place
Valve body mounting....
