Took about 20 minutes between jobs and installed the lifters and heads today.... Waiting on pushrods and a couple other parts to show up to get this rolling....

Ordered a torque converter, $144 through transtar, and found a whole transfer case for about what i would have in input shaft and rebuild kit, and it saves me time in the process.... And it has a 2 year warranty with only 27k miles.... Only things left to get ahold of are trans cooler, headers and get the wiring harness straightened out... If it were a 2wd or awd it would be a no brainer(as i have a wiring harness from an 07/08 escalade), but being flex fuel, 4wd, probably going to combine the two harnesses i have to add the transfer case wiring, the esky harness is complete, the yukon harness i have has 2 wire bundles that were cut, but has the correct trans/transfer case and vvt connections and if i ever saw fit to, could add dod back in.... Not that i have any desire to ever do something that stupid!!!

At this point the headers will probably have to wait as much as id loke to get it all knocked out and not have to worry whether i break the studs on the manifold coming off....

Decided since i have a dipstick i am going to use it simply for adding fluid, but as i have a vette pan, i am going to use the fluid checking procedure for the cars. Add fluid pull the fluid level plug and add fluid until it drips out or wait until it slows to a drip... Although i am sure there isnt that much difference between a vette pan and a truck pan but rather be safe than sorry... Worse comes to worse i can check the level and mark the dipstick....

Been about out of it this week, finally had a chance to get some work done on the engine this evening, finished it up as a matter of fact.... Transfer case came in yesterday and converter arrived at my house monday, and my pushrods came in tuesday. Only things i still need are plugs, transfer case adaptor gasket and a trans cooler..... Oh and to go through the harnesses i have and either make one that will work or get another harness and chnage the couple conectors that i need to....need to confirm but my truck is flexfuel and not sure if the complete harness i have was, may just find a vin with flexfuel vvt/6l80/nqh and order it and be done with it!!! Anyhow heres some pics....

Finally buttoned up...

Flexplate and rear cover on...

Balancer on, couldnt find the new bolt i have somewhere, need change the old bolt out when i find it...

Dipstick just in temporarily to seal the engine up...

Trans and transfer case waoting to be installed...

Default Swap planning...

Have been debating on whether it would be easier/quicker or even possible to go ahead and pull the core support, front diff, rear driveshaft and disconnect the engine harness and pull everything and reinstall everything as a unit versus dropping trans, pulling engine setting engine in, installing trans.... Would definitely save some time if i could do it all as a unit!! Open to opinions and suggestions....

That's an easy question. How long do you want to work on your back if you don't have a lift....

If you have a lift, I'll go back to creeping this thread lol

I have access to 30 some odd lifts at my full time job and 10 at the part time... But i will more than likely do the swap at the full time.. Plan on a thursday evening getting front diff dropped, coolant draim ac recovered Friday either pulling tcase and trans, and getting harness disconnected to pull engine and harness together or pulling core support and preparing the engine trans and t case all together...

Feel free to comment, about20ninj45, been wondering if anyones even still following this... Lol!!
