350 TBI engine swap help
Hi there, my names Luis and Im new here. So I have a few questions, if anybody can help me. I have a 93 c1500 five speed V6 (262) TBI. I want to swap it out for a 350 TBI. Thing is I have no idea as to what connections, wiring and all that good stuff I am going to need. If anyone could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

All of the wiring should work between the two. You will need larger injectors if they didnt come with the 5.7 also if you dont use the computer off the donor truck you need to switch out the chip in your computer for one with 350 calibrations on it. All of your accessories should also bolt right on and be plug n play. Hope this helps.

Like he said above, you will need to swap the motor mounts out, the exhaust manifolds and y-pipe, would be best to get the TBI for the 350. Get the ECM or Promm from a 350 truck the same year and options as your truck. This is assuming your getting a 350 complete intake to oil pan with flywheel.
Everything else is pretty much the same. The sensors, drive accessories, transmission, and even the starter will work from the 4.3L to the 350
To be honest, on the TBI trucks, it isn't hard to swap between 4.3, 5.0, 5.7, and even the huge x massive 7.4.

Thanks for the advice. I am planning on rebuilding the engine, but with performance parts, I was just curious as too what bumps I might encounter. Also I forgot, should I get and engine from the same year or if possible what other years. My friend says anything from 86-95 will work. Is this true?

Anything with accessory holes in the heads will technically work lol. So late 1960's through the last express vans in 2002 running Vortec 350's. Intakes change depending on the heads used, as do fly wheels ( from 1 piece rear main to 2 piece rear main) but it will all technically drop in for you. 1987 -1995 is the oe era of TBI truck engines. 1986 was still carbed but had 1 piece block bottom ends with old perimeter bolt valve cover heads.
If you are hopping it up so to speak my suggestion is just start with a Vortec 350 crate engine..... or junkyard donor, your choice. That way it's roller cam and has the best factory heads available. Some 1986 through 1995 are roller compatible blocks and some aren't depending on the casting number. If it's a Vortec, casting number ending in 880, it came roller so it's just simpler.
I would not bother with a 193 swirl port headed TBI 350...... which is you typical 1987-1995 variation of it.
