Got a little time to work on it today. Got a new windshield put in since the old one was cracked in a few places. Florida makes your insurance pay for one free windshield per vehicle per year so that was a nice freebee. Also pulled the front half of the interior apart to put down some knock off Dynamatt and road kill carpet pad. The NV4500 was never known to be the quietest transmission in the world and this one was a bit noisier than my RCSB. 2 layers or each product on the floor boards and trans tunnel did the trick. Even had time after putting the interior back together and saving the Amazon delivery driver from a sand pit by my house to slap in some new head lights. Funny part was the Amazon guy was stuck with my headlights. I noticed on the tracking map that he hadn't been moving for awhile and went to his rescue.

T56 swaps used to be more popular. I think the overall cost of the transmission itself and the fact they dont handle the curb weight of a Tahoe or even a RCSB very well has caused the T56 swaps to be less popular. Of course the NV4500 doesnt shift as " sports car like" as a T56 does. However a factory NV4500 and OEM style clutch can easily handle 500hp, tows well, and drives smooth and easy.
Not trying to discourage you from the swap at all! Just take into consideration how you use your truck so you don't end up disappointed.

Ugh... that looks so good! Now you have me wanting to keep my 2002 Tahoe DD. I had planned on selling it in a few months. I have a set of SSS chrome 20s that would look bad *** on it with the same drop as yours. (I have a spare LQ4 & 2WD 4L80E too) OK, I need to close this thread and stay the course...

Its the Best DD I've had in a long time. I drive a lot every week and have put over 2500 miles on it since I got it last week. I say throw that 6.0 in your ho and sell something else.

I wouldn't want to swap a TR6060 because while they are a far superior transmission when it comes to faster shifting. They don't hold up well in a 5,000lbs truck that tows. (At least that's the general consensus I've found during research)
A 14bolt may come eventually but the 10b in my RCSB has survived everything I've thrown at even with bigger tires and much more horse power. I've found proper suspension is key to keeping a rear end alive. As is a good posi.
4.88s would be Insane with the 5.61-1 first gear ratio the NV4500 has. The 4.10s in my RCSB are honestly overkill since the blower makes so much instant torque. Axekick (the Tahoes previous owner) switched from 4.10 to 3.43 and he nailed it! First gear is still pretty low which makes towing a breeze and when in OD at 80mph the rpm are right at 2k. Even gets 18mpg on the highway!
As far as an LSA blower goes. If I found one cheap I'd consider it. However since I already have a roots blown truck I think the Tahoe will get a turbo.
