if GM had every thought the manuals would get hot enough for there to ever be a problem, they would've wired up a trans temp gauge from the factory.

...you know, like they did with the NV3500s.

I'm super excited to see if towing in OD gets it hot compared to in 4th. I think next trip I have towing I'll run 4th the first leg and then run OD on the second half. I have a feeling these cast iron cases like to retain heat for a while so I don't want to get it hot to start with.

Don't think it will make much difference?

The only reason I'm so interested is that ZZebra and I both overheated the fluid out of our nv3500s. Mine was so bad my EX in the car following me had oil all over the windshield and front end, it must have gotten to the point of boiling out.

I don't. I could be wrong, but my wife hasn't pointed it out yet.

I hope your right I don’t want anything getting hot. Drove about 2 hours straight in mixed stop and go traffic and some back roads and got it to 133 but that’s it. Im almost wondering if some of the heat comes from the header collector just a few inches from where the sensor is placed. Might dig into my stash and see if I have any heat shield I could wrap around the exhaust there.

Found some 2021 take off wheels on marketplace for a decent deal and snatched them up. They have nearly new 275/60/20 aka 33x10.8 which are a little big especially compared to the 285/50/20 aka 31x11.2 Nittos that are on the LTZ20s but so far so good! Need to get a bow tie center cap and some tire shine but I think they look pretty good so far. Typically I don’t like black wheels but they are growing on me and can always be powdered something else.

I like the wheel style but not crazy about the black. That's the same size tire on my old Tahoe and they didn't look that big. It did have bags in the rear coils and a slight torsion bar crank though.

I've used a lot of different brands of tire shine... what have you been using lately?

The last few years I've been happy with Griot's Garage Tire Gel applied with foam tire swipes. I never wash the tires during regular washes (I don't off road) I just re-coat with gel. You can find it on the shelves at Advanced Auto and Pepoys. Amazon Prime also carries it $15
