I wish I could find a dyno day like that but I have not seen one here, I used to see them all the time in Sturgis h and in D town. Plus I fear some idiot working a dyno more than I do a couple of drag passes, not like I have to use the burnout box.

I know the Tahoe will fit on the dyno but tell that to a shop owner who clearly doesn't want your business and is just making up random excuses. I have literally called everyplace that pops up when I google "Dyno shop near me"

$200/hr on an AWD dyno isn't bad. You can get enough runs in to dial it in assuming no issues come up

I agree the $200 isn't that bad and I was seriously considering that early last year. Might still do it one day but next week is drag strip time! I've been wanting to go again for years and I'm not gonna let some salty tranny blower scare me into changing my mind.

Isn't this a drag racing forum!? I expect people to egg me on and encourage breakage, although I've been treating it pretty rough on the street the last few nights and don't see how the drag strip will stress it any more than I already have so I'm really not concerned about parts failure. If you think something will break then what? Do you really think a 1410 U joint is gonna blow?

I don't think you will break anything. Dyno runs just seem to find any weak point and exploit it.

going from 0% load to 100% load on anything is hard for it. Gears, crank, clutch, driveshaft: everything that spins goes from no load to all the load in ~30' ish

So whatever can only handle 99% of that load will fail (rofl)

I'm not overly concerned, I've clutch dumped in first gear at least 8 times this week and I think it has a couple more in it.

One reason I'm sorta against a dyno run is with 3.42s and 33s I can run 3rd gear to 100mph, if I wanted to dyno in 4th the wheel speed would be crazy. In the 1/4 I'd be surprised if I needed to shift into 4th at all.

Dyno doesn't care about gear. While being 1:1 is considered best, you can dyno in any gear. The differences are negligible
