64 C10 LS Conversion
Figured I would start up a build thread for when I really get rolling on this bad boy. The plan: Rust and bondo removal all around, then a 5.3/T56 swap. Truck is a factory 230 straight 6, 3 speed manual.
As it sat after picking it up:
Replaced the tailgate.
Some really terrible pictures of swapping out the grille.
Pulled a fender and discovered the "virgin steel" I was promised on this truck has been around already
After removing about 3 inches of bondo from just one fender, I decided it was just more efficient to replace the fenders. Swapped out both fronts for fresh repops.

Sadly the 64 ended up having more body/frame rot than anticipated. Traded it straight across for a 66 GMC short wide. Also picked up a complete dropout 4.8 for a steal. Working on prepping it for the GMC. Due to life happening the truck is stored 3 hours from me, so progress is slow. Will try and add pics as soon as I can.
*Edit* Sorry Im not on here much, but here are some shots of the "new" GMC. Slowly gathering parts to put the engine together. Hopefully will have a T56 soon as well.

Got a new set of wheels for the ol girl and got them on. Also got to pull the mountains of trash the previous owner left in the cab and bed out and gone. Also had to take some obligatory pics.
Picked up a front bumper local for a good deal, now just have to sand it down and paint it white.
And finally, I'm very excited; picked up this setup the other weekend:
Will need a mid shift conversion, but aside from that i have everything I should need to get it in the truck. I also have almost everything I will need to refresh the 4.8 I have waiting. All that is left is a cam and full gasket kit. Thinking a BTR Stage 2 truck cam should give it a good boost and a nice sound. Slow progress, but still motivation to keep moving forward.

Finally got the truck out of storage and brought it home to our tiny 1 car garage. Got the front fenders swapped out for a cleaner set, and also got the bumper hung. Updates will come as progress is made.

Freshened up the engine. All new gaskets, new lifters, btr stage 2 truck cam, and an f-body oil pan for optimal ground clearance.
Also threw on a set of Dirty Dingo adjustable motor mount adapters so I can get the location of the shifter on the trans dialed in.

Started in on the rear suspension. Did a 6in. flip kit for a 73-87 C10 and found that it bolted right in. I also pulled the 3 overload springs on each spring pack. Not sure how low it will sit because the axle is currently resting on the frame. A notch will be in order.

Thanks guys! I think once I get the 03 DD fixed up (needs some maintenance odds and ends) I'll really start putting in some hours on this. The goal is to have it in a drivable state within the next 5 years.
