I might have a perfect carb for your build. holley 750dp. got it for my build before the budget went crazy and now it may be a bottle neck for my combo. let me talk to some
"pros" and see if it is enough for my build. if not, I could let it go.

I will tell you right now with that behemoth cam and the heads you are running, it is definitely a bottle neck. You may need to be at 850-900 to feed that monstrosity of an engine. You are running a 6.0 too, aren't you?

I have a posting in the carb'd forum. They say over there I can run a 750 and I SHOULD switch over to headers that are 1 7/8 if I really want this engine to breathe. But I look and see the 1 5/8 openings are larger than the exhaust ports on the 862 heads. I don't know. There is just so much potential of this engine and so little potential for my wallet. I said something about putting an LS7 cam in and that was shot down because the LS7 is down on torque through the midrange vs my stock cam.
I hate having brain burnout from all this stuff.
So many options to go, but so little money to go after those options with. I am going hopefully thurs evening to get an intake and 6LS box. Gotta find out if they have gaskets and if not have to buy those. More money and I cant get it installed and ready to go without the gaskets.
Plus I want to upgrade the rear end as well...
This is frustrating.
LIST to get it RUNNING again:
Intake
intake gaskets
carb gaskets
carb
6LS
fuel line
fuel filter
fuel cell
fittings
rear battery box
transmission rebuilt
torque converter (3000 stall)
rollover vent caps for fuel cell
After that is the stuff for racing:
Fittings to install nitrous kit to fuel system
nitrous bottle and lines installed
nitrous switches wired in
slicks (26X10-15)
drag link replaced in front end
racing seat if I can find one to fit me
racing harness (4 point)
master battery switch
All of the above by late march to early april.
Man am I in for a lot of broke paydays.

Well, I was all excited to have gotten in my first section of braided fuel line in the mail today!!
Until I opened it up!
These half-witted dense asses must have handed the line to a 3 year old with kiddie scissors and said "here, cut this using these".
I expected a company that is represented to be professional to do the smart thing on cutting braided fuel line like this. Mark the location, tape it off, and use a cutoff wheel for a smooth clean cut so there are no issues. Then leave the tape on the end so that it arrives safe and sound for both the mail carriers and myself.
And yes, it was off ebay. but they are already getting an earful and I will be filing a complaint on them for this, and other transactions I am reading about will get brought to eBay's attention.
I am majorly disappointed and severely pissed cause now I have to take and throw away half a foot worth of line or more to get the ends clean for installing AN fittings.

Trick to cutting it is wrap tight with electrical tape then take a 1" hose clamp and tighten around it tight and cut next to the hose clamp with a hack saw. Works great and makes for a perfect cut.

i've got the blue masking tape around it right now, and will try cutting it off later this morning and hopefully it will still be decent outside.
got the trans mount bolts out of the transmission, but did not have the tools necessary to get under the truck to get the bell housing bolts loose.
that plus I still have to unhook the shifter and trans lines, and raise up the passenger side of the motor to get the starter off so I can get to the torque converter bolts.

Sorry, no chop saw. I do need to get more electrical tape though!!
I have (3) 4 1/2 inch hand grinders and surprisingly not a single one cost me over $23!!
I have several thin diameter cutoff wheels, so I should be able to make a clean cut with that. Waiting on my fittings to come in before doing the cutting is something I thought of today. My carb comes in tomorrow!! YAY!! Thanks TXsilverado 2.0 for that $39 deal!! Also a couple more things coming in this week, like the new 19.2V lithium polymer battery and charger for my C3 cordless impact! Along with a few AN fittings. I also ordered the 6AN carb bowl fittings to fit the carb. I am gonna be having soooo much fun getting these lines done and getting them on/under the truck. Wait, I cant do that yet because I don't have a fuel cell!! Well, maybe I can order one this weekend, but that will depend on if I have to return to work or will still be doing the phys therapy. Man this sucks!!
