BlackGMC build take 2 - Turbo Time
#171
Yeah i like it except at part throttle. Honestly i don't like hearing the Trubo whistle when it is not in boost, bu tother than that it is fine. I have alot of stuff planned for the summer to get ready for fall track season...
-flip kit
-swap in new assasin bar parts
-3.42s
-swap out drop springs for factory springs and 2 inch lower control arms
-replace all the front end parts (upper control arms, tie rod ends, etc)
-new front bumper and lower piece
-boost controler
-add in the aftermarket fuel rails and finally finish my fuel system
probably a few other small things but that should set me up for Fall racing, FINALLY!!!

I went from my stock airbox feeding my turbo that was really quiet, to a open element and its really loud. Gas mileage sucked there for a week. Not quite sure what im goin to do if i pull a trailer that thing is goin to be screaming the whole time.

Well it is summer project time!
I have been planning/researching this for a long time, i am gonna do alot of stuff. Main goal is to add some traction so i quit doing burnouts at 80mph...
Part 1 - Axle flip
I got a set of newish leaf springs, i redrilled the center leaf to allow it to slide back 2 inches so the Assassin bars fit correctly. I bought a new set of rear assassin bar mounts for the axle flip. I also plan on lowering the rear hanger roughly 2 inches so it will end up being a ~4in drop in the rear. I have allready installed a set of Energy suspension poly bushings in the springs and shackles.
I have also ordered a new set of rear shock mounts. With the new shock mounts i should be able to run stock length shocks
I will be installing a set of 3.42s and rear TA cover.
also a new set of Hankook tires
Part 2 - Front end rebuild
I am ordering all new suspension parts. All parts are Raybestos Professional Grade. Inner and Outer tie rod ends, New Raybestos springs, Upper control arms and lower ball joints that will be pressed into some DJM 2in drop contol arms (i have read the ball joints are crap that come with the control arms). I also finally found a set of greaseable 1.5in sway bar bushings to replace the Addoco sway bars ones.
Part 3 - Engine maintenace.
install my aftermarket fuel rails and placing the FPR after the rails. I also will be removing the last bit of rubber braided stainless hose for new teflon stainless hose. I will be adding a new oil pump, new timing chain, all new gaskets. I have to pull the drivers side head to extract a broken exhaust bolt.
i have also ordered a new Racetronix efan harness. my old one is not weather proof and the corrosion is killing it. the racetronix one is weather proof and built with heavier gauge wire.
Part 4 - exterior
new front bumper and bumper cover, i decided to run into my house a few months ago, so i am gonna fix that. New clear turns signals and head lights.
That should keep me busy for a few weeks. At the end i hope to be able to grip better so i can up the Boost!
