with 4:56 and your power you may go into 4th gear with a 28" or smaller tire.

with 4.10's and a 305/45/18 ( little more than 28" ) i wan getting close to 4th with the 4l65e making a bit more power trapping in the 121 ish range

Full slick costs more, needs a bigger burnout(less life), and you don't need a full slick.

I was wanting to go with a 30" tall tire so I didnt run out of gear too soon, and the bigger the sidewall, the more flex and more traction, right?

You will probably want a stiff side wall with such a heavy truck. Sidewall flex isn't as much a part of the game any more. It comes into play but the 30" will give you more traction then a 28 because of the bigger outside diameter.

Well I have to use a 16" wheel for the rear because of the brakes, and the only 30" tall 16" rim is 14" wide Any other brands you recommend?

I was looking and you might have to go with a full drag slick. They have a 33-10.5-16 so you might not be able to stay in a DOT slick but that isn't the end of the world.
