Thanks, but I could use a lot more practice. My mild and stainless I've got down, for some reason aluminum seems like a different animal to me.

Aluminum is a diff beast to weld for sure..

Never done it but everyone has told me aluminum is by far the hardest. I guess the spark walks around a lot because the tungsten gets rounded almost right away.

Not if your using the right machine and tungsten. Which I am.

The difficulty for me is
1. I can't control the puddle as well
2. No matter how much I clean, clean, clean I still seem to get a lot of contamination.

It's certainly not my machine, I've got a Miller Dynasty.

Madman and I are heading to SAR tomorrow for the truck shootout. I still have some stuff to do, but we plan on getting there tomorrow night to make a couple of shakedowns with the changes. If all goes well, I'll be gunning for an 8 on saturday with how ever much boost it takes.
