I was checking out this brake kit tonight and decided to weigh just the rotors.

The stock rotor

Size: 822.7 KB
weighs in at a heafty 26.6 lbs

The new 2-piece Strange rotor

Size: 788.5 KB
weighs in a 6.6 lbs.

Thats 40 lbs just in the rotors!

For those of you who got the regular 1-piece steel Strange rotors, they weigh 7.2 lbs.

So the upgrade, gets you about a pound and a half.

Here they are together

It is crazy all the different places you find weight hiding on these trucks! I may have missed it but do you have a weight goal your shooting for?

No goal, just get it lighter. Anything under 3900 lbs would be a pretty big improvement.

Those rotors would work well for the drag strip but I wouldn't do any other kind of racing with them. That's a lot of unsprung weight there, I forgot what it equates too but it's something for every pound of unsprung weight it's equivalent to 10 lbs in weight loss on the vehicle.

Would you recommend daily driving these rotors? They just look flimsy compared to the regular rotors lol
