I talked to Mike (I think he is the shop foreman) at Moser today and he assured me that there will be no problem with the 5-lug conversion. Apparently he wasn't there on Friday when they got my stuff and the guy who called wasn't familiar with this task. Any way for those wanting to know, the issue was that they have no way of chucking the hub up in a lathe and machining the flange back down after is has been welded. Mike assured me that they are pretty good with the hand grinder and thats how all of the 6-lug truck stuff is done.

good idea, but...
The only way that would work is if I mounted the front mount under the front mounting crossmember instead of on top of it. Thats not going to happen due to ground clearance issues. I've pretty much sold myself on the fuel cell idea. It's something that will eventually need to be done anyway as I don't plan on staying at my current power level past the end of this year.

nice work... question are you going to use leaf spring floaters to prevent spring bind?

No, see the last two photos in post #43. The front of the torque arm will be bolted to what I'm calling a shackle mount. It will allow the rearend to still move up and down in its natural path preventing binding.

Housing floaters are used when a ladder bar or 4-link is installed with leaf springs.

Yea, I've had a medical set back and can't work on the truck at all right now. I had knee surgery and will be on crutches for 4 more weeks from this Friday. I am planning on using the factory crossmember that is behind and below the transmission. It will be mounted on top of that crossmember. I already have all the pieces cut so maybe I can hobble out into the garage this weekend and take some pics of that.

All of my axles/hubs and brake parts should be back from Moser this week.

ah i feel your pain, i had ankle surgery little over a yr ago and crutches are no fun. dont worry about the pics, stay on the couch and take the pain meds..
