Well, it never fails! The moment you start on a fun project, life says " HA, GFY!" But, I'm back, with pictures!
Here's the leaf spring hanger I mentioned before....
And the "supposed to be concentric" holes....
I started cutting the rivets with a die grinder and busting them off with an air hammer but that was taking too long and I got impatient.... So I brought out the torch and just sweat the heads off.
Started prepping the frame for the new hanger.
Just got to bolt it on now.
I was thinking about using some red loctite on the mounting hardware because I'm a little nervous the vibrations might cause the nuts to back off. Anyone have any comments/concerns?

Made a lot of progress this weekend!
I made the last second decision to pick up some new shackles and I'm glad I did! The old ones were way worse than I thought they were!
but everyone knows you can't just buy new parts, you gotta modify them too!! So out with the new and in with the newer!
Next task was to put the new bushing in the leaf springs which required removing the metal sleeve in the eye
Once that was done, I wanted to mock up the rear end so I could get a better idea of how the anti-flex brace was going to mount. I bolted the new leaf spring hanger on and decided to go ahead and use some red loctite but found out as I was drawing the nuts down they were the distorted-thread lock nuts. So probably didn't need it but, nothing a little extra security wont hurt.
Leaf springs and housing in!
This side is going to go on with no problem....
This side however......
I was warned by LPW that I would have to modify this side to fit. So now comes the decision of, do I space the shock out an inch or so to avoid crashing into the brace, or just cut out some taller brackets and route the brace on this side of the shock...
I'm leaning more towards the taller brackets because they would be easier to make and I wouldn't have some crazy angle for the heim joints.
I also found a little rust hole on one of the frame cross members and like a scab in plain sight..... I had to pick it....
I found a piece of pipe w/ a 3" I.D so I'm going to split it down the middle, cover the rust holes and weld it

Did you speak with LPW about using the braces on a leaf spring application? Just curious as I don't see them helping that much as it seems the leafs themselves would keep the axle tubes from moving inward. Especially since the tubes are already welded.
As for making room for the braces... is the brace out far enough you could straighten the shock vertically and go outside of it? With the rotten crossmember, it would be an opportune time to move it forward a bit and do a shock relocation.
Thanks for the heads up on the spring eye sleeves. I have a set of poly bushings in the garage I plan to change out in the not so distant future.
