Yeah a 8.8 is a good option and without much money being thrown at it ( i.e. shortening axles , redrilling hubs and rotors ) they will take a beating...The 8.5 I got from a S10/Blazer costed me a pretty penny...

Got that 4L80 in yet??? Was wondering how much of the tranny tunnel you had to massage....if any..

yo! silver_mod_o! that stock s10 rearend will do just fine with a mini spool. my dad and i have been racing the ole 406ci s10 at evadale raceway for bout 2 years and the stock rear end lasted all that time..thats about it though it finally gave out this past winter..we runnin a turbo 350 with a small stall so not much stress on the gears leavin on the footbrake..keep in mind we were runnin between 11.40s on bad days...and 10.80 is our best. i think 2 years is pretty dang skippy!!

i hammered on mine for 2 years on slicks running 11.5 mine never broke with a camaro gov bomb with 4.11 stock gears.

hell yea! i plan on leaving my stock rear end on my s10blazer in there.. should last a good while

Heres the update for tonight...

Got motor mounts fabbed and the motor/trans bolted together and sitting in the truck

much more to come... dont guess I've posted any pics of the truck either.... so here ya go















and the money shot of the 4L80E.... yes its fits
