That's what I was wondering, it looks very lumpy? Maybe it is the glitter of the lights being an illusion

I wire wheeled everything a year ago so there's no more of the factory gunk that's usually on the frame, it was mostly bare metal until I let it "Patina" for a year. This paint like POR15 prefers to be applied over a very porous surface so I left the light rust as is besides blowing the loose stuff off. It is a little rough but those pics are also wet, it seems to lay smoother after a day or two of curing. TBh I don't care how rough it is as long as it's black and not going to rust though, it was originally a PA truck so it saw some pretty tough winters. I am going to further inspect the Evap and gas tank mounting plates I may replace them. I will definitely replace the fuel tank straps, they look awful.

No it is not

Just a big crossmember and spare tire hoist in the way... nothing that can't be sawzgrinded away and reinforced differently. The trucks EVAP system is already rated for 100 gallons onboard....

Wow I didn’t know all the shortness came 26gal that’s pretty lame. All that spare tire none sense is already gone from this truck and I have seriously considered an aux tank in the bed feeding the main but that’s more work and more complications to a vital system. They finally built a gas station within 5miles of my house so it’s not as bad as it used to be.
