Dirty Dan's RCSB 4X4

Well plans have now changed since yesterday I picked up a 122k mile 2006 LQ4. Got it washed up and checked it out last night and it looks great! No sludge anywhere and the oil pan didn't have anything crazy in it.
Now my plan is to clean the 6.0 up cam it and send it. Question is should I put my 4.8 cam in it or get something more aggressive?
Will post pics ASAP.

Finally getting time to do stuff again. I had a metco idler pulley seize and commit suicide on me about 3 weeks ago. It had been squeaking for awhile but I haven't driven the truck much lately since I got the Tahoe.
So a seized idler is the cause of this tear down.
The plan is to pull the 148k mile bone stock 4.8 out. Slap the blower and 8rib setup on the new 6.0 have it engine dynoed so I know it works and throw it all back in the truck. While the motor is out there is a plethora of hackery to remedy.
Before you pick me apart about the pictures below. My defense is I did all of this in less than 3 weeks in a tiny garage before moving cross country and it was the first time I'd ever done anything like this. Also its survived 2 years and 25k miles exactly as is. I never had any issues except shredding a belt and having the idler pulley seize.
This is what I accomplished this weekend.

That had me actually laugh out loud.🤣 My powder coating buddy asked me how filthy it was. I couldn't find a good way to show how thick the grime was and decided to dunk good ole George head first.

Its behind the water pump on the block. I guess I should get better at pressure washing.
Ding Ding Ding winner!
Oh yeah it will be a wonderful feeling when the new motor is in and works 🤞
I'm shocked at how clean the 4.8 is under the valve covers. I've had the truck for 5 years and a little over 50k miles half of which was boosted. I always thought it was sorta on its last leg and ready to die. But pulling the heads and oil pan will tell more.
