Finally have some things to update. Since last time, the holidays have come and gone, and we popped out our second kid in march. Finally home life has calmed down enough for me to get away to the shop to progress on this undertaking. Previously I had whacked 4" out of the top. But that is the easy part. The hard part is making it all fit back together again.
Cut lines to make it all fit
Cut into pieces
Started at the windshield posts
Center getting put in place
Front half in place
Rear getting placed
Relief cuts to get it to line up
And near back window tacked in

So I still need to fill all the gaps with sheet metal and put the door frames back together. Lots left to do, but I ran out of energy and helping hands for today.

Yes, chopping the top is a **** ton of work. But it's a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of the list:
Build frame (from scratch)
Build front/rear suspension ( from scratch)
Build turbo system
Build fuel system
Wire it
And most importantly - make it safe.
It'll be a long road ahead of me, but I think it'll be worth it.

Got a little more done today. Got some pics, but they honestly look just like the others. Once the chop top is done, then better pics and maybe a vid. Maybe one or two more "sessions" of work on the top till its done.
