I don't have the instructions in front of me, but for the ARP studs, the larger ones it said I believe 3 steps to final torque of 80 ft/lbs....easy enough
but the small ones was like final torque of 25 ft/lbs....so do I do 3 steps with those?
torque the large ones to say 20 ft/lbs first pass and the smaller ones to like 5 ft/lbs?

and my comp pushrod checker didn't come with instructions at all, but I saw online that each HALF turn is .050" is that correct? so each full turn would be 0.100"?
how do I measure the half turns more accurately? they have a nice marked line on the one side to line up for full turns but nothing marked on the back!
and since my current rods are at 7.425" and I'm slapping on 0.035" shaved heads, should I start my checker at 7.350" and go from there?

Get a 12" caliper to measure the OAL of the pushrod tool.
make sure you are not compressing the lifter plunger. turn the pushrod tool to zero lash. Pull it and measure the push rod tool. Then add the recommended lifter preload. I would contact BTR and ask him what would work well with his lifters.

Do the first torque value for the large studs. Then "snug" the small studs . then go to the 2nd and 3rd values for the large studs. Last torque the small studs down to the value specified by ARP
Then drink and beer because you are done

You need to go by the marks on the pushrod length checker.. Do not measure the OL of the checker because that is not how it is designed to work and will be inaccurate. When the checker is at its shortest, it is 6.800", and each full turn is .050". Check out post #2

Ive hit a snag
for the coolant cross over tube or steam vent I think its called. My factory heads the rear one is blocked off. The prc heads that hole is open. What can I use to plug it?
