Do those 862 heads have the notch on the sealing surface? Some have had coolant leaking issues using a standard MLS type head gasket with notched heads. The WS6 store has a special sized head gasket for 4" bore blocks using the 862 notched heads (RPMSPEEDHG02). If you have the notch do some research... if not disregard.

Anyone know anything about LSXceleration website? They seem to be the only ones that I can find the lifters from, I see them on amazon but they are $180. On LSXceleration they are $160 with trays.

Will have to look, they are at the machinist right now. I am hoping they don't

If they have the notch buy only the gaskets you need separately. The exhaust gaskets that come in that felpro kit are the bi-metal type and will leak. Use GM oem gaskets or the MAHLE MS16124 they are exactly like the GM gaskets and much cheaper ($15) pair at Amazon.

Those are the Delphi bulk lifters. I had one set of those used with two different camshafts. I couldn't get rid of the sewing machine noise using two different pushrod lengths. It may just have been a bad set but I measured with a pushrod checker and never could quieten them down. The real Delco LS7 lifters (12499225) are $260 plus and I'm guessing all the cheap LS7 "type" lifters you see everywhere are the Delphi bulk lifters. I went with the Morel 6504 lifters ($209 WS6 Store no tax free shipping) and they've been super quiet up to my 7000 rev limit.

Ah I see, did the morel lifters come with trays or did you have to buy those separately? I may try out the ones sold by LSXceleration and see how they are, most reviews about the delphi ones seem not too bad but I will still check out the Morel lifters.

Also I meant to ask you this question before, what flywheel did you use to mate your LQ9 to the 4L60? I was going to use the one off my 5.3 as I thought that the one from the LQ4 was too large or had something up with it that didn't allow it to fit right.....

Oh and also why change the cam retainer plate? Just curious as I think I have seen it before but not on every cam swap.

Cam retainer has an o-ring in it and at $18.00 it's cheap insurance.

No the lifter trays were separate. FWIW the Delphi's were "ok" except for the noise issue and left no visible wear patterns on the camshafts (I later sold) they came off of. I myself wouldn't use them again... I was always gun shy with the noise.

The mic on my GoPro cuts in and out but you can hear the lifter noise. It was annoying inside the cab below 35mph

Yeah your LQ4 had a 4L80 from the factory. All LQ9's came factory with a 4L60 transmission so I just used the one that came with my engine. So yeah the 5.3 flexplate that mates to the 4L60 will work.
