Rear main means 4L80 swap and you know I'm right 😂

HAHAHA no.

So I think what finally gave away the rear main for me is that, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, when I shine my UV flashlight up into the weep hole in the tranny you can see an orange ring around the rear main seal and a trail of oil running down the side of the flexplate. When I pull the transmission we will know if I am correct or not lol
Amazon Amazon
Is that the one I need? Do I need to get the alignment tool as well?

Also while doing the LCAs I have discovered some general maintenance/things that need to be replaced.
1. Both upper ball joints
2. Brake pads, getting the cheapest ones so that I can do a BBK next year don't judge me
3. Obviously the rear main seal
4. Driver's side rack and pinion boot

I'll get all those done next weekend. Except for probably the rear main seal, that will have to wait for whenever I decide I am good enough to pull the tranny out
What the cheapest brake pads you can find? I think I still have some 2 year old Powerstop pads I removed off the front of my Tahoe when I prematurely did the 4piston swap. I could throw them in the steering wheel box for cheap.

I already ordered them but thanks boss.
They were like ****** $14 Centric pads. Dan do you think my declads would clear the 4 pistons? Some people say yes some say no. That ridge on them makes me think no.

Maybe Wilwoods are in my future. Still gonna do the hydroboost and stainless lines first though.

Wow, 14% for pads that's basically free cheap.

I think you will need to grind the hump off the caliper and possibly run a 1/4" spacer, I did both and have barely a 1/4" clearance, although that could be due to the Thiccc powder coating.

Hydro and stainless lines will produce a more drastic pedal feel improvement than the 4 pots IMO. Of course 4pots and hydro is even better.

I just liked the 4 piston for the look, 2 piston and 12" rotors is sucka ****

Yeah I could probably grind the hump off. I knew about the 1/4" spacer though.

Yeah I did the 4pot for looks as well lol, I think they will fit just gotta grind and space no biggy. I've run 1/4" spacers on the front of this truck since I bought it. 40k+ miles ago.

Still gonna think about it. Wish Wilwoods didn't cost an arm and a leg for the fronts and rears

Even worse is the cost and lack of availability of pads and rotors in the future. At least with the 4 pistons, you can buy some sketchy $14 pads to get by lol.

Whats your plan on the ball joints? I ordered the full front end kit from Moog off Rockauto and thought it was a decent deal.

Bought two new upper BJs from Moog on Rock Auto. Cost about $35 each I think. Shouldn't be too bad to do just press'em out and in.

The truck will basically be sitting on jack stands for like 2-3 weeks. This week I am waiting for everything to show up, over the weekend I am being told I need to replace my sister's friend's catalytic converter on her 2007 Audi A4 so I'll be busy doing that AIDs. Then I'm out of town for a week. Got a weekend to work but I doubt I'll be able to pull the tranny that quick. I suck dick hole at that. We'll see how long it takes lol

also my windshield wipers won't spray in their proper pattern anymore so I might just pick up a new wiper arm. I already fixed the nozzle once but I guess I jacked it up and broke it.
