Finally! Turbo Build! Huron Speed/On3

Well made some progress today. Got the coolant stuff done and got all the hotside assembled.
Overall kit impressions: B-.
The grinding needed was a huge bummer and now you guys have me thinking it may hit anyway.D'oh Oh well, we shall see! But once the log was in, I was glad to see that plug wire fitment was not a problem and plugs are actually pretty easy to get to. And it looks awesome!
The fit of the crossover is great. The double flex allows for easy assembly...Which is great because some idiot (me) hooked up the crossover and then looked at the downpipe laying on the other side of the garage. Yep, I got to give the crossover another shot at assembly. It's very close to the trans on the passenger side, so I had to trim the ear of my trans. But that may be because of the 80e.
The whole thing could stand to be tucked in closer to the trans another inch or so. The crossover is the lowest point on the truck, and mine is lowered a decent amount so I'll have to be careful.
Downpipe goes in easily once you remember to put it in. There's ample space between it and the crossover pipe. And plenty of room between DP and firewall. Where it turns down under the cab could be a little closer to the floor so that exhaust could be more easily routed. As it is, with just a straight pipe you'd hit the trans crossmember. You can see this in the pictures. I'll just have to find an exhaust shop that can do more than weld in some flowmasters.
Only thing left to check for fitment is the WG to DP, but it doesn't look like it should be an issue.
Overall it's a good kit. It's priced well and is quality made. Takes a few tweaks to make it work, but I guess that's to be expected when trying to bolt a turbo on a truck meant for hauling things other than ***. I'm pleased with the kit and the customer service of Huron. He has gone well beyond in some cases and has made good on all his promises, a good dude.
Looking forward to testing it out and reporting back on the recirc pipe and how the wastegate placement does/doesn't control boost since it's different than most other truck kits.
Pics from today:
Room between firewall and DP and frame
I had to bend the AC hose at the drier and at the compressor. But I think that's standard for all truck kits
You can see it hangs a lil low
If DP was an inch closer to floor, a straight piece of pipe would easily clear the trans crossmember, but just will have to have a little bend put in it. No big
The piece of metal is laying on the top of the trans crossmember

Looks really nice! Lot of fun is coming. Tune in baby steps. Those pipes are purty , but my KBRACING kit did not require all that finageling to fit. Have fun man and keep us posted.

Made a little more progress.
Got the oil feed line plumbed and routed and drilled and tapped the oil pan. By FAR the most nerve wrecking thing about the whole build so far.
Got the intercooler mounted and one part of the cold side done. Just waiting for the TB coupler and another coupler for the intercooler and I'll be done with the cold side.
Just waiting on a trans line, another fitting for the oil pan, and the WG and BOV and I'll be ready to fire it up. Can't wait!
