Finaly putting her togather.
After a year of waiting I have finaly ordered nearly everything needed to get my 408 running and the truck back togather.
A month ago I finaly brought it to my garage to start tieing up loose ends. I havn't accomplished as much as I would like but that will happen when you have 3 kids and plenty of other things going on.
Parts got ordered wed and are starting to arive.
My head gaskets came in from summit, and my head studs and wideband came today. Headers, TB, timing set, heads and a few other things will filter in over the next few working days.
SKS gave me a great deal on the studs.
Hopefully have here running in 2-4 weeks.

I bought the 408 short block with only 20-30 1/8th passes. Didn't have the money for get the top end for it so it has sat for a year.
It made 52x to the tires with a slightly higher compression head(2 cc smaller) so I am expecting 500 or so hp. It is also built for 350 of nitrous. I plan to run 100-150 for this year and then up the juice down the road with a DP.
My goal is high 11s but it should easily run mid to low 11s N/A. Then some nitrous on top and it should get fun.

I am going to go with stock 317s for now. I have a set I have started port and polishing myself but have lost the ambition for now. I picked another set up for $200 shipped to my door. My plan is to run them for the first year and next year send them off to livernois(they are just up the road) and have them CNCed. Their work would cost me $1000 and I just don't have that extra money. I may work on the port and polish job, get them flow tested, and possibly swap out later this year.
My compression will still be high 12s.
Here are some picks of the short block.
