ok getting my parts all ordered for this build that will be coming shortly within the next few weeks im hoping as soon as im laid off from my job. going with a custom ground cam from LJMS. one debate im having is my heads. I thought i had the 799 heads on the truck but theyre actually 706 heads. There is a set of 243 heads on ebay right now for $400 and im debating on getting these for my build. anyone want to chim in on this? Im looking to make around 700 hp right now

Nice build! What kind of lift is on your truck? Was that the reason for the crossover pipe fitment issue with the front driveshaft? How did the kit fit other than that?

It has a 6" rough country lift which did cause the fitment issues with the crossover pipe and front driveshaft if you have 4wd. Not real hard fix if you're good with a welder. Some of the turbo down piping was a pain in the A$$. Its a good kit all in all but if i had the knowledge I have now I might go another route and piece my own kit together. question still stands...put some money into my 706 heads that are on the truck now or buy a set of 243's. I know ill need to mill the 243's but for my goal is it really worth it to spend the money on the 243's. This truck will occasionally see the street and a few truck pulls. By no means is it a DD

Well i bit the bullet and got a steal on these like new heads. Only bad part is they didnt come with rocker arms. Thinking of ordering a set of BTR stockers with the trunnion upgrade but maybe some comp rollers are the way to go...
