Default GMC Syclone rebuild

Well.... I killed the heart of the Syclone about 1 month ago, and have started the rebuild. I completely killed every piece in the short block, but I already bought a used long block and sent it to the machine shop, so in about 2 weeks the build begins! I'm going to try and make it into the low 11's or 10's, but build the crap outta the short block so I can't kill it. So far its lookin like the block bored 10 over since it was very clean, Cunningham rods, CP pistons, stock crank, 4 bolt mains, Haven't decided what cam quite yet, but a bit more aggressive than stock, and Brodix heads. my guess is about 500-600 HP. I'm still researching the rest, so stay tuned!

Here it sat for 3 weeks 120 miles from home...

Those have always been two of my favorites also. I have wanted one sence they came out in '93. Now I would like one with an LS-V-8. Would have to shoehorn it in but what a sleeper.

wow, you really killed that engine.
I would assume that your upgrading the turbo since your building it bigger, any guesses on what size your thinking of going?

That's some serious carnage! What caused the failure?

Think the failure was from blowing some oil gasket without knowing it on the freeway and running dry on oil. I was beating on it pretty hard prior to blowing it, and a couple mins later is started to run really rough and the turbo spooled and boom! Since I bought the truck it never ran right and I knew it would need a rebuild, I just didn't expect to kill it like that! At the beginning of the day oil level was good though, but 120 miles later not soo much...
