I have never seen carnage like that! Usualy one maybe 2 rods but damn near all 8! Consider yourself a champ!

That would be why there was not 8 pistons! I just scanned over the new motor pics and mistook the valve covers as 350 valve covers. Figured the blown motor was a swaped in V8 too.Oops.

Guess I should have counted plugs or not just scanned the pics past the carnage! REgardess that is crazy to destroy vertualy every piece and part of the bottom end!

GMC Syclone UPDATE:
I ordered the Cunningham rods and CP Pistons today which could take up to 3 months... I'm hoping on no more than 2! I got 6" rods over the stock 5.7", but am moving the pin up on the custom CP Pistons 0.3" to keep the piston up at top dead center longer, and keep the rods more vertical. Also ordered the Pro Gram Spayed 4 bolt mains to have my machinist drill out he holes for them and hone them for the crank, Soo my guess is 2-3 months before anything big and exciting starts to happen... At least that give me some more time for funds, and more parts planning.

I'll keep ya all updated!

I've been to all of his gtg's but I don't recall ever seeing a Sy there. If so I woulda remembered! Unless you came in another truck than yeah we probably ran into each other at some point.

nice rebuild, i am personaly fond of those trucks and yours is especialy nice,i am also fond of the ls1 but not everyone took to those like i have. your truck should be a real sleeper, hopefuly oneday we could line up and see what they do if you ever in iowa...lol
